22 Things Happy People Do Differently

I have always considered myself an optimist. For as long as I can remember, since I was three or four years old and was called “Love Bug” because I would cheerfully and lovingly run from relative to relative giving out hugs and kisses, I have perceived people, events, and experiences in my life as inherently good. Every day I “see the glass as half full,” meaning I see the bright and positive view of things. Though my life has had its share of problems, challenges, and negative people, I can say that I have been a happy person. What separates a happy person from one who is unhappy?  Are some people born with a “happy” personality, do things and people MAKE them happy, OR is being happy or unhappy a decision they make?

I believe happiness is a choice.  Chiara Fucarino shares a similar opinion in her article titled, “22 Things Happy People Do Differently.” She writes,

“There are two types of people in the world: those who choose to be happy, and those who choose to be unhappy. Contrary to popular belief, happiness doesn’t come from fame, fortune, other people, or material possessions. Rather, it comes from within… Happy people are happy because they make themselves happy. They maintain a positive outlook on life and remain at peace with themselves.”

I invite you to read Fucarino’s list of 22 things that happy people do differently and then return here to share your reaction.
